Dr. Kym A. Harris

Kym A. Harris, Ed.D., the 2013 Spelman College Leadership and Women of Color Conference Coach, is the Chief Executive Officer of Your SweetSpot™ Coaching and Consulting. Dr. Harris is a certified career and life coach with a doctorate in organizational leadership. Her expertise is in leadership development, career coaching, and life coaching for women and minority leaders.

She is committed to helping women and minority leaders establish strategies for achieving increased effectiveness; and is well-known for her action oriented coaching model, which is grounded in self-efficacy, personal accountability, the pursuit of authentic relationships, and vision compatible decision making. Described as a “velvet hammer,” she utilizes a strategic and intuitive approach to guide clients out of their comfort zones in a way that minimizes discomfort and amplifies desired results.

Dr. Harris’ 27-year career in Human Resources and Talent Development represents experience in the public sector, higher education, and corporate. She serves on the boards of Emerge, which provides scholarships to support women who have demonstrated a deep commitment to both reaching their educational goals and giving back to their communities; and the Emerging Leadership Institute (ELI) which guides girls and women in the development of interpersonal, essential life, and leadership skills.  She is also a coach for Well-Healed, an on-line community for professional women that have survived domestic violence.
